The best address at Montmartre is Avenue Junot.You are right next to the Sacre Coeur church from where you have a wiew all over Paris.Place du Tertre where you find all the painters,Moulin Rouge etc.
Artists,actors and comedians are living on this avenue.Edit Piaff lived here for years.
You are also close to the wine yards and the market at 'Porte de Caulaincourt.
At rue Caulaincourt and rue Lepic you find some of the best food shops in Paris with lots of specialties,where you can get your fromage ,fois gras de canard or chose a nice bottle of wine.
The Metro station 'Lamarc-Caulaincourt' is only few minutes walk away and the line 12 will take you to Place de la Concorde, Louvres, Les Tulleries.
Montmartre is on a hill so you have less polution here than in the rest of Paris.
The access to the CDG airport is easy as we are north of Paris.
