Old style Plantation Cottage, northshore Maui, kanaha beach

Surroundings: Close proximity to the charming town of Paia, an old sugar cane plantation town distinct for its old colorful wooden buildings, eclectic shops and restaurants. It offers a very different feel from the hotel bordered Lahaina and condo bordered Kihei. On the north shore, people seem oblivious to tourism and the pace is slow. Only minutes away is Hookipa Beach Park, windsurfing capital of the world. In winter, monster surf rolls into the North Shore. Kahului to the west has a WholeFoods and Costco where you can buy delicious prepared foods and fresh fish.

Activities: Maui is not at a loss for activities. Windsurf or kite surf directly from our beach, we provide racks so you can keep all your equipement geared up. Go biking on the bike route that leads to Paia or the other way to Kanaha beach park and to the port. Take an helicopter ride, hike into the volcano, go whale watching or survive the road to Hanna. There are many very good restaurants in Maui, we offer a suggestions of our favorites in our home book.

Restaurants and shops: A short distance from Maui's famous and best restaurant, Mama's Fish house. You will also find many very good less pretentious restaurants in Paia. I love the Paia Fish Burger or Flatbread for a good pizza.
